Coastcon Virtuality
Branding Group Project
Coastcon Virtuality 2021, was an event held by IAAPA in Orlando, FL. This convention invited amusement parks specialist and enthusiasts to explore and try the newest inventions when it came to the entertainment and theme park world.
The group consisted of 6 graphic design students, we came together with the goal of experiencing the work an agency would do. Even though the project was for a course grade, we each took on real roles with very clear responsibilities.

The Design Challenge
To form a functional agency and assist IAAPA “representative“ (aka our Professor Jeff Janelle) in creating multiple pieces for the Coastcon Event. The agency had to do a new brand for this event, and the point of start was converting this annual trade show into a virtual convention.
The theme we decided to pursue was sustainability and roller coaster! We created the brand, merchandise for the event, the tickets and badges, an itinerary for the 3 days of the event, the website, and marketing pieces.

AWARDS
This project won Dr. R.S. Grove Memorial Award in Illustration at the Annual Juried Student Show held by Valencia College, in March 2022. And was also featured at the Anita S. Wooten Gallery, fall of the same year.

As part of the branding, I created over 25 vector elements to be used throughout the project. Some of these went into the creation of the logo, other function as avatars for our users, and even as backdrops for the video conferences.
